ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is a not-for-profit organization that oversees the programming and management of two of the Tri-state’s finest performing arts venues – the Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall – and is dedicated to supporting performing and visual arts. Each year, CAA presents a diverse schedule of events; serves upwards of 600,000 people in its venues; features the work of talented local, regional, and national artists in its Weston Art Gallery; and supports the work of more than one dozen resident companies. Since the inception of its acclaimed arts education programs, CAA has reached more than 1.7 million students.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department in carrying out various human resource functions for all employees. Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources this position will work collaboratively with various departments to provide a full range of Human Resource services with respect to employee matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General responsibilities include but are not limited to: work with the VP-HR to comply with all federal and state employment regulations, including required legal postings throughout facilities; ensure compliance and remain apprised of mandatory legal updates pertaining to required employee-related forms and documents; responsible for pre-employment communication and the documentation process of new hires, including background checks; assist with the full cycle of recruitment processes and activities, while building candidate pipelines and creating a positive candidate experience; responsible for the ongoing compliance of I-9 procedures; manage the onboarding process of all new hires through the payroll system; regularly update employee documents into the payroll system; establish and monitor the process for maintaining all personnel files, confidentiality of such records, and release of information contained within; work with appropriate staff to ensure new hires are set up with all necessary company property; administer the employee termination process including the return of company property; update and process personnel related changes within the payroll system and personnel files; process employment and wage verifications; completion of/and communication with unemployment agencies regarding unemployment claims; assist with planning and implementation of staff-related functions; coordinate employee campaign drives; partner with HR team establishing HR processes; act as backup to HR team members as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred; and a minimum of two years HR related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY
 A general understanding of State and Federal laws regulating employment and possess the ability to assist in communicating and enforcing said laws, principles and practices
 A working knowledge of human resource fundamentals
 The ability to research and analyze various and different types of data information
 The ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
 Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
 Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality and discretion
 Strong written and verbal communication skills
 Strong organizational and clerical skills along with attention to detail
 Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
 Familiarity with payroll software; preferably ADP WFN
 Ability to develop partnerships and alliances, as well as manage a diversity of opinions in a positive manner
