POSITION OVERVIEW

The People & Culture Manager reports to the Global Director, People & Culture and manages human resource functions—including hiring, retention, termination, recordkeeping, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and resource planning strategies. To do so, responsibilities include developing and administrating personnel rules and policies, pay and job classification structure, and programs for employee training, safety, health, and morale. This role supports locations in Miamisburg, OH, Hebron, KY and Brooklyn Park, MN with regular on-site support for the Miamisburg and Hebron locations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education: College accreditation with emphasis in human resources or equivalent experience, preferably from within a manufacturing firm—bachelor’s degree with concentration in business strongly preferred.

Experience: Ten years of human resources experience including benefits administration, recruiting and interviewing, and compliance.

Additional skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources administration skills
    Ability to prepare reports related to HR functions
    Good mathematical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Competency in computer and office equipment with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual duties effectively
  • Valid driver’s license with driving record of acceptable risk as defined by HAHN Automation Group’s insurance company
  • Strong multitasking capabilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES

The People & Culture Manager is responsible for working with senior management to design and implement effective policies and procedures with respect to the human resources assets and activities of the company.

The principal duties will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Designing and implementing policies for hiring with adherence to EEOC requirements.
  • Establishing strategies that seek to increase recruiting success and retention rates as well as foster employee job satisfaction, engagement, and high morale.
  • Reviewing terminations and ensuring that reasons for termination are well documented, not arbitrary or discriminatory, and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records while ensuring rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of legislation affecting human resources, training management and monitoring company policies to ensure compliance.
  • Preparing job descriptions and compensation programs—seeking incentive programs that encourage excellent performance and increase retention rates.
  • Optimizing and administering benefits programs, evaluating coverage and costs and modifying where appropriate.
  • Working with senior management to achieve long-term staffing goals and strategies.
  • Coordinating training and safety programs in the context of recordkeeping and compliance with government regulations.
  • Completing projects and assignments on schedule and taking on additional assignments when appropriate—consistently demonstrating the ability to establish and manage priorities.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

As a member of HAHN Automation Group US, Inc., applicants must be able to interact safely in a manufacturing environment. This includes:

 

  • Full body mobility with the ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift or move 25 lbs of weight.
  • The ability to walk within restricted areas of the company manufacturing plant.
  • Professional conduct in regards to hygiene and dress.
  • The ability to read and prepare business documents as well as conduct business over the telephone in a sometimes loud environment.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to travel via car or plane both domestically and internationally.
