Job Opportunity – Human Resources Generalist with Hilltop Companies in Cincinnati, OH

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office. You will manage the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs as well as carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting and onboarding, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), benefits, and compensation.

Additional responsibilities of this position include:

Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; write and place advertisement; process background checks and pre-employment physicals.
Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database.
Assist with onboarding new employees at locations and conduct new-employee orientations.
Perform benefits administration to include monitoring employee eligibility, claims resolution, change reporting, verify billing accuracy, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Prepare and track paperwork for employees on FMLA, STD and LTD.
Maintain and process all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attend unemployment hearings when necessary.
Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
Monitor employee 401k eligibility, conduct plan explanation meetings with newly eligible employees, and verify Payroll Coordinator receives deferral repo.
Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
File EEO-1 report annually and maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Report, maintain, and monitor workers’ compensation case files; follow-up on open cases.
Prepare survey information.
Participate in outside education seminars and conventions.

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy self-starter, with the ability to work seamlessly with remote team members. Other requirements of this position include:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum three years of experience in Human Resources in a Generalist role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.
Commitment to company values.
Computer proficiency.
Industry certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR).
