HR PAYROLL COORDINATOR

Position Summary:
The HR Payroll Coordinator plays an integral role in maintaining the culture through the consistent application of human resource practice and policy.  They will oversee the payroll system and executes the payroll function of the organization. Additionally, the Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources function of the organization to ensure efficient and effective department operations.

Hours: This position is an hourly non-exempt full-time role Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

·       Oversees the payroll and time and attendance system, and executes the bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring payroll deadlines are met

·       Processes all new hires, terminations, and employee and/or position information changes in the payroll system

·       Processes and enters all other regular ongoing maintenance and/or changes to the payroll and time and attendance system

·       Runs various payroll reports following payroll submission and other ad hoc reports

·       Assists with a password reset for the payroll system

·       Arranges appropriate background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens for potential new hires, and notifies hiring managers as candidates meet the requirements for hire based on results; collects the related paperwork for employee files

·       Coordinates benefit enrollment for employees in a timely manner

·       Notifies the broker of new hire benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations for processing with the various carriers

·       Monitors eligibility for Kentucky Retirement System and notifies employees in advance of their eligibility date

·       Performs regular billings as assigned for various Human Resources and benefits vendors and creates check requests and Purchase Orders as needed

·       Performs other Assists with annual open enrollment as needed (preparing paperwork, scheduling meetings, reconciling changes, etc.)

·       Administrative duties as an assigned example; employment verifications

·       Completes regular filing of all Human Resources and benefits paperwork

·       Coordinates and creates the annual employee agreements for the head start program

·       Responds to basic policy questions and escalates to the Human Resources Director as appropriate

·       Perform other duties assigned by Human Resources Director

Qualifications:

·       A degree in accounting, finance or a related field

·       APA certification preferred

·       At least 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources administrative or support role

·       At least 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably with Paycor applications

·       Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, Paycor or related payroll systems and database systems

·       Organizational and time management skills

·       Strong attention to detail

·       Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

·       Ability to problem solve and analyze data independently

·       Strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information

·       Ability to relate to persons of various socio-economic backgrounds

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to bend, lift up to 50 pounds and engage in a full range of motion

·       Ability to sit, read, and type at a computer for up to 8 hours a per day
