Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is a 107-year-old mission driven social enterprise serving southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana.  While most are familiar with our globally recognized thrift store operations, we are much more.  Sales from these stores fund employment, training, education and a myriad of other programs and services to members of our community.  In 2021, Goodwill served 2,879 individuals and of those placed 920 in community employment, provided housing and other support to 373 Veterans and recycled more than 48 million pounds of donated material, all while being recognized as a Best Place to Work.

Our organization is preparing to increase investments in our community by expanding services, growing foundational supports and adding to our retail store operations.  Our team will drive these ambitious efforts as Servant Leaders supporting a fun and respectful work environment.  Today, we are in search of our new Vice President of Human Resources, who will develop staff at all levels of the organization as we position our existing team to learn, grow and become more empowered.  This position will report to the CEO and serve as our subject matter expert and strategic advisor supporting our mission to “provide rehabilitation services to persons of working age…to maximize their vocational independence.”

What you will do:

Lead the strategy, operations and administration of all human resource functions in alignment with organizational objectives including: Recruiting and Talent Management | Diversity & Inclusion | Employee Relations | Organizational Development/Training | Resource Coordination, and Compliance of Policies | Compensation & Benefits | programs and systems that support the strategic plan and business goals across all organizational operating units.
Respond to and champion employee issues in the context of organizational strategy | translate business objectives into appropriate human resource actions and initiatives.
Be a champion. Educate and encourage managers and employees on how to use available tools and resources, (Benefits, family strengthening, learning & WFD opportunities, and community resources)
Be an effective communicator and share information and updates with others, while ensuring a clear, concise and professional communication through reports, documentation, written and other communications.
Collaborate and partner with Executives and Department Leaders to assure HR strategies and systems support operational needs.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to Human Resource staff including assuring development opportunities, coaching and counseling.
Identify and measure Key Performance Indicators, create/oversee routine and ad hoc reports for the HR Department and the Organization.
Chair the Human Resources Administrative Committee.
Assure Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries meets requirements of programs in which the organization participates including but not limited to Section 14(c), OFCCP, CARF, and Ability 1 contracts.
Represent Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries at community events, business functions and government agencies as appropriate.
Research and be aware of HR and industry trends, legislative initiatives, laws and court decisions that may affect OVGI.
Maintain at least one Human Resource certification (SPHR, SCP, PHR, CP, CCP, or other relevant certification/credential).
Ideal Candidates Experience Will Include:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, HR, OD or related field.  Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
15 years in Human Resources, 10 years in management roles, 2 years in executive roles. Retail experience and/or working for a company with over 400+ employee is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulatory compliance requirements as well as federal EEO, ADA, AAP and FMLA guidelines and regulations.
Strong knowledge of HR related laws and regulations, Section 14(c), OFCCP programs.
Knowledgeable about HRMS systems including but not limited to Payroll, ATS and LMS. (Jazz HR, ADP, etc.)
