Pole/Zero Corporation, a division of Microwave Products Group, is looking for a talented HR Generalist to join our organization!

Connecting and Protecting People, Microwave Products Group (MPG) is a leading global provider of mission-critical engineered electronic components and subsystems comprised of four business units in five manufacturing locations.  Our brand names are recognized globally including:  BSC Filters, York, UK; Dow-Key Microwave, Ventura, CA; K&L Microwave, Salisbury, Maryland and Dominican Republic and Pole/Zero, West Chester, OH.

Our expertise is the design and manufacture of communications-based specialty products – engineered components and subsystems – for demanding military, space, commercial aerospace/industrial, and telecom infrastructure applications where function and reliability are crucial.

Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, recruiting, employee relations, training, security, payroll, safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HRIS MPG (Including responsibilities for all sites)
  • Posts requisitions in HR Central Recruiting module
  • Maintain LMS (Learning Management System) in HR Central including building or assigning training and processing completion records
  • Assists with new hire processing
  • Processes change of status forms for all US MPG sites in HR Central

Recruiting and Staffing

  • Recruits, prescreens, and interviews qualified candidates
  • Meets with managers to determine staffing needs
  • Coordinates all co-op programs
  • Completes proper paperwork to hire selected candidates
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

Employee Relations

  • Responds to employee relation issues
  • Administers functional rules and procedures
  • Assists employees with any Human Resources related issue
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations

New Hire Process

  • Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce
  • Records new employee information into LMS Training Module and IFS ERP system

Benefits

  • Serves as liaison for employee benefit issues with company benefits advocate
  • Scheduling yearly Personal Health Screening/Assessments

Training

  • Creates and presents human resource-based training programs
  • Conducts new hire training
  • Maintains LMS Training module including manually entering completion data for in-person training

Safety

  • Coordination of and monitoring safety and environmental compliance programs, policies and procedures
  • Training of employees in proper use, labeling, storage and removal of hazardous material
  • Responsible for cataloging and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets in online system
  • Work with HAZMAT disposal companies regarding proper storage and removal of hazardous waste
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Maintain records of hazardous material usage and disposal
  • Perform periodic audits for compliance

Facilities Security

  • Review and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations
  • Administer badging and access requirements for facility
  • Preparation, management and interfacing during security audits

Other Duties

  • Reporting
  • Coordinate employee events
  • Complete unemployment documentation for assigned departments and represent the company for any unemployment claims
  • Backup payroll processing function as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with SAP Success Factors or other HRIS software
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in HR related training development and delivery
  • Ability to work closely with all organizational levels of the company and across all departments
  • Ability to interface effectively with outside HR vendors and consultants
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Able to efficiently and effectively multi-task
  • Able to understand the technical aspects of the positions available within the company
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources plus 2 years related work experience in Human Resources Department or 5+ years of manufacturing-based HR experience required
  • Must have prior HRIS experience
  • Prior training development and delivery experience strongly preferred
  • HR certification strongly preferred

WORK SCHEDULES:

  • Normal workdays are Monday through Friday, 8-hour days OR a 9/80 schedule (9-hour day) 80-hour alternate schedule with every other Friday off; other alternate schedules may also be available
  • Lunch period is one hour per day, unpaid
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required
