Job Opportunity – Safety & Human Resources Director with PTG Logistics in Mason, OH

As the Safety & HR Director, you will effectively lead and drive the safety culture at PTG Logistics, by building the strategy and influencing leadership and support for safety and risk management across the organization, while also directing human resource efforts to ensure performance, adherence with all regulatory, compliance and legal human resources issues.  Other responsibilities of the position include:

Build a behavior-based safety and HR programs, including but not limited to training, onboarding new employees and re-training. Must have the ability to cultivate and build broad based support and buy-in across all employee groups and leaders.
Develop and implement the tools and training programs to support a continuously improving safety culture, to include regulatory compliance, job safety analysis, driver safety program, PPE policy, hazmat training and emergency preparedness.
Lead and collaborate with our IT team to develop safety KPI’s & dashboards to ensure our operations leaders have visibility to trends that are actionable and drive continuous safety improvement.
Ensure our operations are in compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement effective and efficient human resource strategies, systems and processes, especially recruitment related.

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with the ability to work seamlessly with team members of all departments and levels. Other requirements of this position include:

5 years or more of safety & human resource leadership at a top tier transportation and/or 3PL company.
Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience, PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and state regulatory rules and requirements.
In-depth knowledge of human resource laws, concepts, and applications associated with human resources.
Possess a proven track record in achieving and exceeding safety goals across a national transportation network.
Proven experience with developing and implementing business continuity and emergency preparedness plans.
Experience in employee relations, conflict resolution and related regulatory issues.
Experience in collaborating with third party insurance and legal partners.
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills, with the ability to build credible relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to analyze input from multiple functions, develop effective problem solutions to complex business issues, and present recommendations.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Familiarity with behavior-based safety and tools with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Software proficiency with MS Office suite, and industry leading safety systems. Paycom experience is preferred.
