Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Manager of Organizational & Leadership Development, the Learning & Organizational Development Specialist develops, implements, and provides on-going support for a variety of programs that align with business objectives and overall strategic direction of the organization. While there will be a consistent list of tactical duties for this role, ongoing responsibilities and projects will be focused on opportunities for continued development of people and processes within the organization. These opportunities and their level of priority will be identified primarily through consultation and collaboration with the Manager of Organizational & Leadership Development. This role will place heavy emphasis on supporting the various business groups from a Learning and Employee Engagement perspective. Some areas of focus will include Orientation & Onboarding programs, Training & Development, Learning Management, Performance Management, and Community Outreach.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Consult with management and other employees to identify additional job-specific and skill-based training needs and opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- Evaluate and address opportunities for continued learning and development of associates.
- Coordinate the new hire onboarding process to ensure effective introduction of new associates to all relevant aspects of the organization, sufficient access to tools and resources for optimal performance, and completion of all necessary requirements.
- Supports all aspects of new hire orientation, including design, development, delivery, communication, measurement, and overall effectiveness.
- Develop eLearning modules to support training and development needs.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for the company.
- Support the design of career development paths.
- Assist in the establishment and implementation of a new performance management process.
- Coordinate Community Outreach efforts.
- Develop and coordinate employee recognition programs.
- Heavy involvement in the development and maintenance of a company intranet material.
- Consistently seek opportunities for improvement and innovation, such as by way of enhanced processes or use of technology.
- Assist in efforts related to ensuring RSCI remains an employer of choice.
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all activities involving personnel matters or other sensitive information.
Qualifications
- BA/ BS degree in Human Resources, I-O Psychology, Business or related field preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- 4+ years of human resources or organizational development experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience in application of adult learning methodologies and learning strategy
- Must demonstrate expertise in designing learning programs
- Must be self-motivated and display high levels of ambition, creativity, innovation and initiative
- Must have strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Must have ability to practice high level of confidentiality
- Must have effective time management and organizational skills
- Must be capable of effectively handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
