We are seeking a dedicated, trustworthy Human Resources (HR) operations professional who has a heart for people and the willingness to take on a servant leader role. We need someone who is process driven and strives toward operational excellence within the HR team. The HR Operations Specialist will need to strike a good balance between caring for people and taking care of business. We need a person who can ask the right questions, see the big picture, and implement with great attention to detail.

Half of your time will be in Norwood, working with The Shepherd Chemical Company, and the other half will be in West Chester, working with The Shepherd Color Company. Some time may be needed in Middletown to support Glass Coatings and Concepts. You must be willing and available to travel between and work at the various sites.

Compensation Range – $50,000 – $55,000

Here’s what you will do

Team Member Support – When team members have questions, you’ll be their go-to. You may help them understand their pay, unravel benefits mysteries, and decode PTO and leave policies.
Recruiting/Onboarding Excellence – You’ll process non-exempt new hire paperwork and assist with orientation.
Engagement – You’ll support wellness initiatives, feedback surveys, and Employee Appreciation Day events.
Data Accuracy – You will keep records up to date. Accuracy matters, and you’ll ensure that personnel updates, performance documentation, and leave of absence records are spot-on.
Reporting – Run standard reports related to employee data and payroll. But that’s not all—your analytical mind will also create custom reports when needed.  You may even pick up some payroll responsibilities as you progress.
Compliance – You’ll post annual compliance notices in a timely manner
Projects – Support HR initiatives. You will eventually lead some HR projects as you build your project experience.
Education/Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred
At least two to five years of Human Resources experience with a general understanding of HR areas of responsibility, including compliance, employee relations, benefits
Knowledge of HR Systems and their impact (including HRIS & ATS)
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
